We are delighted to have learnt that Corydalis ‘Porcelain Blue’ has been awarded best garden plant at the prestigious Glass Tulip awards 2021, held in the Netherlands and determined by a jury of 25 industry experts.

Corydalis ‘Porcelain Blue’ is a rhizomatous perennial that was developed by Hillier Nurseries and made its global debut on our RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2017 garden, where it also made a big impression. The most striking feature of this Corydalis is its vivid blue colouring. It is also a surprisingly robust garden plant, despite its delicate appearance. It produces flowers for the majority of the year, typically only falling dormant in late winter.

This Corydalis thrives in a number of situations, from full sun to partial shade, and sits perfectly in beds and borders. Perfect for underplanting or in rock and informal gardens. It has a sweet honey-like scent. Mat-forming attractive, divided, soft, blue-green foliage that lies down in summer. It bears flowering stems of a delicate light-to-mid blue.

Look out for it in Hillier Garden Centres next spring, with expected availability from April 2021.
